Patient Advocate

A Patient Advocate provides assistance with concerns that might arise during your stay and are available to educate you and your family about your rights and responsibilities while in the hospital.

Patient Advocates can:
  • Provide assistance in completing advance directives, such as a health care proxy or other life care decisions.
  • Investigate and attempt to resolve any complaints about medical center services.
  • Listen to your suggestions and route them to the appropriate person for evaluation.
  • Help ensure your safety and comfort during your hospital stay and promote effective communication between you and the hospital staff.

Mon-Fri 9, AM-5 PM
Messages left will be responded to as promptly as possible. Someone will contact you within one working day.

If your concern needs immediate attention, ask any staff person to page a Patient Advocate for you.

During hours when there is no Patient Advocate on duty, ask to speak with a nursing supervisor.
