Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is recruiting an experienced Pediatrician to lead and direct the Pediatric Residency Program. The Program Director will devote principle effort to management and administration of the residency, as well as teaching, and clinical care.

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. Pediatric Residency Training Program is committed to training excellent pediatricians with an expertise in community-based health delivery and advocacy, aimed at promoting lifelong health habits that decrease health disparities in socially, and economically disadvantaged populations.

The program director has responsibility, authority, and accountability to oversee all aspects of pediatric residency education and training. The Program Director responsibilities include the following:

• Monitoring the faculty assignments, outcomes and proper conduct of educational activities
• Oversight of residency curriculum including didactics, workshops and rotations
• Integrate departmental clinical quality improvement programs into the residency program
• Provide direction and leadership for the overall planning and activities associated with the Pediatric Residency in order meet the ACGME, ABP, Joint Commission and other regulatory agency requirements for residents.
• Recruit, retain and promote high caliber residents
• Participation in the budgeting process and annual performance reviews
• The Program Director position will be split between patient care and required Program Director responsibilities as outlined by the ACGME.

The person in this role reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and the DIO. The role has 0.4 FTE allocated for administrative leadership and development of the residency program. Direct patient care will be 0.6 FTE.

We are currently accepting applications and seek candidates Board Certified in Pediatrics and /or a subspecialty with a minimum 5 years clinical and teaching experience. Ideal candidates will have experience as a Core Faculty, Associate Director or Director of a Pediatric Residency Training Program. The Department is looking for candidates with experience mentoring residents and faculty from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must obtain or be eligible for a New York State Medical License and DEA.
