Podiatry Residency Program

The Podiatry Residency Program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center has been in existence for over 35 years, and has graduated hundreds of successful podiatrists, many of whom are nationally recognized in their field. Residents gain the opportunity to have hands-on surgical experience in their first year and are given more complex tasks in accordance with their level of training.

Our academic schedule consists of daily rounds, podiatry clinic, wound care clinic, and podopediatric clinic. Teaching faculty are all involved to provide lectures, journal review, and cadaver labs. Radiology review and a variety of workshops are scheduled regularly. Residents get to work with more than 100 podiatrists and gain a variety of experience from every one of them.

Program Candidate Selection Criteria and/or Eligibility Requirements

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center’s Podiatric Medical Education shares common criteria and processes for the recruitment and selection of residency training candidates. A selection committee exists of, at a minimum, the program director, and a faculty member. Additional members are included at the discretion of the program director. This committee reviews all applicants and is responsible for selection of applicants for interview, participation in the interview process, and the final choice of applicants to be ranked in the CASPR/CRIP match. The selection committee members review all applicants eligible for the program. All applicants meeting the minimum criteria, plus meeting program-specific criteria, will be reviewed by members of this committee. Applicants should be selected based on residency program-related criteria such as preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communications, skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. Academic credentials include medical school grades and performance as reflected in documentation received directly from the school.
