Emergency Medicine Residency Program
The Wyckoff Heights Medical Center Emergency Medicine (WHEM) residency program is a three-year ACGME-accredited residency program. Our program is approved for six residents each year for a total of 18 approved resident positions. The primary education site is the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center Emergency Department in Brooklyn. Residents also rotate through Harlem Hospital Center, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Staten Island University Hospital, and the New York City Poison Control Center. Total months spent in emergency medicine rotations vary each year from 10 months in PGY-1, 6.5 months in PGY-2, and 9 months in PGY-3. During PGY-3, residents are encouraged to explore their specific emergency medicine interest during their scheduled elective rotation.
