Dental Residency Program

The Dental Residency Program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center offers residents a choice of training in one of three specialties – General Practice, Pediatric Dental, and Dental Anesthesiology. In additional to clinical and didactic training in their particular specialty area, residents receive exposure to all dental and medical specialties, ensuring a well-rounded exposure to the field of dentistry.

General Practice Residency

The General Practice Residency Program is an American Dental Association Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited one-year program with an optional second year. Our program offers training in comprehensive multidisciplinary oral healthcare at a level beyond pre-doctoral training.

Residents receive post-doctoral training in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics (fixed and removable), dental implants, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, geriatric, and pediatric dentistry.

Additionally, residents receive clinical and didactic training from attending physicians representing all dental and medical specialties.

The didactic portion of the program includes lectures, seminars and rounds provided through the department of dentistry. Topics include but are not limited to internal medicine, sedation, oral pathology, anesthesia, orthodontics, pain and anxiety control, implants, continuous quality improvement, practice management, restorative dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, trauma, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
