The Rheumatology Department holds a clinic at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. The team works in an environment to provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that primarily affect the body’s musculoskeletal system — joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. These conditions are known collectively as systemic rheumatic diseases. Rheumatologic disorders may also affect the blood vessels, skin, nerves, and most internal organs.

Department personnel collaborate closely with physician experts in many specialties, depending upon the nature of the rheumatologic disorder. They also work closely with the patient’s primary doctor to ensure a smooth transition in care when appropriate. This multidisciplinary teamwork ensures that a patient receives seamless care that addresses all individual, specific health needs.
