Departments / Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is dedicated to providing professional and compassionate care to all patients.

Physical or speech therapy services are provided to patients of all ages in both inpatient and ambulatory settings at all acuity levels. In-patient services are provided to all patients in the facility as warranted or so ordered. In-patient treatments are provided at the bedside and in the third floor physical therapy gym as needed. Ambulatory services are provided in the third floor physical therapy gym area and the speech therapy office.

Physical therapy is a form of healthcare that prevents, identifies, corrects, and alleviates acute or prolonged movement dysfunction of anatomic or physiologic origin.

Speech/language pathology is a form of healthcare that prevents, identifies, corrects, and alleviates speech, language, cognitive, voice and/or swallowing disorders.

Physical/speech therapy encompasses areas of specialized competence and includes the development of new principles and applications to meet existing and emerging health needs more effectively.

The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department is comprised of board certified physiatrists, licensed physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, speech/language pathologists, front office support staff, and residents who rotate through the department.
Our state-of-the-art facility, convenient location, effective treatment plans, timely appointments including early morning and evening hours, along with friendly and knowledgeable staff, all contribute to overall patient satisfaction and are why patients choose our department to deliver their rehabilitative needs.
