Wyckoff Heights Medical Center Recognized for having ZERO Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections
Brooklyn, NY, June 10th, 2026
Wyckoff Heights Medical Center was recognized as the ONLY HOSPITAL IN BROOKLYN with ZERO Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSIs) from July 2024 to June 2025*.
CLABSIs are serious, life-threatening complications that occur when germs enter the bloodstream through a central venous catheter. If untreated or severe, they can lead to septic shock, organ failure, abnormal blood clotting, and even death. They also increase the overall length-of-stay of patients in the hospital.
Wyckoff recognized this achievement as a collaborative effort of multiple healthcare disciplines that worked incessantly during this period to ensure the safety of our patients. Congratulations to all our staff that made this possible.
