The Endoscopy Unit at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center boasts one of the most active and most equipped GI facilities in New York.

It consists of three procedure rooms, a pre-procedure waiting area, and a post-procedure monitoring area. The staff assesses, evaluates, and treats patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. Patients can be inpatient as well as outpatient (ambulatory surgery).

The Department of Gastroenterology also provides an individualized approach to patient care on an outpatient basis for those who have, or think they may have, Hepatitis C, including:

  • Screening, Treatment and Diagnosis
  • Evaluation of Liver Function Including Lab Work, Diagnostic Testing, Liver Biopsy, and Endoscopy
  • Management of Side Effects
  • Management of Cirrhosis of the Liver
  • Vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B

Americans spend billions of dollars a year on treatment for colorectal cancer, which is the second most expensive cancer to treat after prostate cancer. Through the division’s outpatient services, screening is performed routinely to patients with indications for colorectal cancer.
